New site for specialist doctor

A new website designed by HMA for Dr Ian McNeil, a consultant physician and gastroenterologist, is now live.

Dr McNeil, who is based at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust, holds both NHS and private clinics where he sees patients with a range of gastro-intestinal conditions. He asked HMA to design a website which would help potential patients to find his details when searching online for a doctor with his expertise in treating specific diseases and conditions.

The website, which was designed and built using HMA’s own Content Management System (CMS), does just that. It features useful information for patients and potential patients including Dr McNeil’s biography, clinical strengths and his specialities, as well as his contact information and details about how to make an appointment.

The new site also features key words to support its SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), which ensures patients and GPs can easily find it when doing an internet search for a doctor with Dr McNeil’s specialities.

New website for Academy 360

HMA Digital Marketing has created a new website for Academy 360, an all-through academy for boys and girls in Sunderland.

Academy 360 aims to transform learning by developing each child’s individual talents with different techniques and top class facilities with state of the art technology.

HMA worked in partnership with Surreal Creative, a Sunderland-based agency, on the website. Surreal created the initial website design and HMA was responsible for the animation, Flash, HTML programming and database build. HMA also implemented its own Microsoft Certified CMS (Content Management System) into the site, which means Academy 360 can easily update the website content in the future.

The new Academy 360 website is Flash-based but also has an HTML version to improve accessibility and SEO.

HMA teams up for My New Hair

HMA Digital Marketing has teamed up with Sunderland-based agency Surreal Creative to create a new website for bespoke wig provider My New Hair. The organisation, which is soon to achieve charity status, is supported by celebrity hairstylist Trevor Sorbie MBE and cosmetics giant L’Oreal.

My New Hair provides advice to people suffering from cancer and provides specially made wigs for those who lose their hair through cancer treatment. The ultimate aim of the organization is to give bespoke wigs to all UK cancer sufferers so they don’t have to rely solely on NHS solutions.

My New Hair’s new website provides advice and support about hair loss and has a search feature that lets users read reviews of their nearest hair salons which offer bespoke wigs. The site, which is content managed with HMA’s own Microsoft Certified CMS, also features forums for both hair loss sufferers, who can share their experiences, and for hairstylists, who can discuss potential issues with one another.

“We’re glad to be involved with such a worthwhile organisation as My New Hair,” said Nicola Seal, HMA’s Digital Media Director. “Partnering with Surreal Creative to create this website was a valuable experience and we look forward to working with them on future projects.”

There are currently 170 Salons That Care that offer the My New Hair service. The organisation aims to connect with over 400 salons across the country in the next three years.

HMA goes to University

HMA Digital Marketing has created the first in a series of CGI animations to help researchers at the University of Sheffield’s Department of Biomedical Science explain their work to others in the scientific community and to the public. Their research into improving methods of delivering therapeutic agents to the central nervous system could ultimately be used in the treatment of conditions including several motor neurone diseases, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Dr Beppe Battaglia of the Department of Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield was awarded a three-year grant from EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council), the Government’s leading funding agency for research and training in engineering and the physical sciences. Dr Battaglia and his team are using their expertise in molecular engineering and neuroscience to further develop their nanoparticle technology into mechanisms which will allow delivery of therapeutic agents to specific biological targets within the central nervous system.

The EPSRC grant requires the project to feature a strong element of public engagement, so Dr Battaglia asked HMA to create an animation that could be used to visually explain the research to others, including clinicians and patient groups.

This animation is the first in a series that HMA will create for the University research project. The focus of the initial animation is on the molecular engineering methods used to create the nanoparticles used (namely polymersomes) in a Petri dish. It will demonstrate how the polymersomes are produced from single hydrophilic and hydrophobic polymer strings, using context and scale to convey their nanometre size.

HMA 3D assists SUFC's World Cup bid

HMA 3D is helping Sheffield United Football Club (SUFC) in its bid to become a host stadium for the 2018 World Cup.

An animation created by HMA 3D was instrumental in helping SUFC to secure planning permission from Sheffield City Council earlier this month to move forward with redevelopment plans that will increase Bramall Lane’s capacity to 44,500 seats. The stadium redevelopment will play a significant role in boosting Sheffield’s bid to become a host city for the 2018 World Cup.

HMA 3D’s animation details the proposed stadium redevelopment, including external specifications and extended internal designs with exhibition space and corporate entertainment areas.

Prior to creating the animation, HMA 3D worked with development architects WCEC to illustrate their redevelopment concepts in images that were used for outline planning and in the initial stages of SUFC’s bid to become a World Cup host stadium.

This is not the first time HMA 3D has worked with SUFC; in fact, their working relationship goes back more than a decade. HMA 3D produced illustrations and animations for the football club’s earlier stadium redevelopment proposals, including the addition of a corner stand in 2001 and the Blades Enterprise Centre in 2002.

In 2006, HMA 3D created an illustration to help SUFC show how the development of the onsite Copthorne Hotel would look. The following year, HMA 3D produced CGI images of SUFC’s plans for the new Kop Stand extension and surrounding redevelopment including a new business enterprise centre, which were given planning approval earlier this year.

HMA 3D was founded in 1995 and produces CGI illustrations and animations for clients in the property, architecture, interior design and construction sectors, among others.

Enquiry management for MEPC

HMA Digital Marketing has created a new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool to enhance an existing system for commercial property company MEPC. The new enquiry management system provides extensive information storage and reporting that makes it easier to facilitate cross-Estate lettings.

HMA initially created a bespoke Asset Management System for MEPC as a central source of storage for information about all voids and transactions and to provide marketing data and reports. By reviewing these transactional trends and performance reports, MEPC was able to effectively analyse the costs of voids and create more accurate business plans.

After seeing the benefits of the Asset Management System, MEPC asked HMA to expand it to also deal with enquiries and to manage the process of contacting prospective customers and agents to facilitate lettings.

HMA created FARM (Facilities and Asset Reporting and Management) to do just this. FARM provides the ability to store information on companies, contacts and enquiries. It is linked to HMA’s email marketing system, so it can provide automatic marketing reports on email activity (such as opens and clicks). FARM also provides reports on the timescales for Enquiry to Letting conversions and their ratios to enable MEPC to analyse their processes in more detail.

Every MEPC Estate previously worked independently, but with all data from each Estate in one place via FARM, each Estate’s lettings team can now identify a new company as a current MEPC customer and can facilitate cross-Estate lettings.

HMA has worked with MEPC for over 10 years and was responsible for the digital element of their rebranding strategy in 2006.

Dysons Chambers Goes Viral!

Following on the success of recent email marketing projects, HMA Digital Marketing was asked by DTZ to create a viral email campaign to promote Dysons Chambers, a newly refurbished office scheme in Leeds city centre.

The aim of the campaign was to get Dysons Chambers noticed by the property market in and around Leeds.

HMA created a bespoke “air hockey game”, which was inspired by the Dysons Chambers’ brand. Weekly emails are sent out to promote the competition and to make participants aware of the previous week’s winners. The game has proven to be addictive with more than half of the email’s recipients registering to play the game to win prizes ranging from an air hockey table to a Nintendo DS.

The email marketing campaign, which will continue through Christmas and into the New Year, has already proven to be very successful. Click-through rates have reached exceptional rates of at least 67% each week, and after just one week, 33% additional participants signed up to the game by word of mouth from friends and colleagues.

New website for Barnsley Hospice

HMA Digital Marketing has created a new website for Barnsley Hospice. The site has a bright and welcoming design and highlights the Hospice’s wide range of services for patients and their families, raises awareness of their work, and encourages people to get involved by volunteering or fundraising.

“We are proud to support Barnsley Hospice and the important work that they do in our local community,” said HMA Managing Director Rob Hill. “We wanted to provide them with a website that would help them to carry out their work more effectively.”

The site makes it easy to make donations online, learn more about patient services and also includes a virtual 360 degree tour that shows the Hospice’s comfortable environment.

The new site was built using HMA’s own Microsoft Certified Content Management System (CMS), which means it can be easily updated to grow and evolve along with the Hospice.

“We’re really proud of our new website – it’s got loads of information but is still easy to use,” said Theresa Barrett from the Hospice. “It’s a great place to showcase our latest events, which we really depend upon to raise money for our work. Even though it’s just been launched, the site has already been effective in getting more bookings for our fundraising events.”

New brand identity for Rockscape

HMA Digital Marketing has created a new brand identity for Rockscape Group.

When the Directors of Rockscape needed a strong branding message to define and distinguish their organisation, they knew they could rely on HMA, having previously appointed HMA to develop the 4Urban brand.

Because Rockscape is an umbrella organisation, the identity needed to be flexible enough to work with current sub-brands and new businesses to be added to the Group in the future.
